About Spectrum

The Spectrum font family was designed by Jan van Krimpen for hand composition and cut by Monotype for mechanical composition in 1954. The roman is in the Aldine tradition and the italic is based on the calligraphy of Ludovico degli Arrighi. Originally intended for bible setting, the classical design coupled with a narrow, legible italic has made Spectrum a popular choice for quality books and magazine setting.
