Designed by Leslie Usherwood, ITC Usherwood is an informal and personable typeface which bridges the gap between the rich tradition of letterform design and the spirit of our time. While there are hints of Goudy, some Bauer and even a bit of Augustea in the typeface, ITC Usherwood is both classical and contemporary; a creation beautiful in form and functional in design. As with many classic typefaces, the ascenders of ITC Usherwood are slightly taller than the capitals. This design trait allows elegant proportions and a large x-height. Born in England, Les Usherwood was the founder and president of Typsettra in Toronto, Canada. ITC Usherwood is available in book, medium, bold and black weights with corresponding italics.
