ITC Flora font

ITC Flora had its beginnings in the hand-lettering exercises of Dutch type designer, Gerard Unger. These exercises were conducted in 1971 using a felt-tip pen as a lettering tool. They were hidden away until 1978, when the Dr. -Ing Rudolph Hell Company in Germany directed Unger to create a new round-nibbed script type. Starting with his original felt-tip sketches, Unger also reviewed a rather obscure type by the German teacher and type designer, F.H.E. Schneidler. The result was ITC Flora, a typeface with remarkable character, simplicity and strength.
