ITC Dinitials were always intended to be initial letters, but they began life with much more of a "Jurassic" influence than the final form portrays. As German type designer Helga Jorgensen, the creator of these image fonts puts it, "When I started drawing the first of them, I was very much inspired by dinosaurs, but during the work my fantasy guided me more and more, and they became rather fabulous creatures." A few letters, like the R and U, still display their prehistoric foundation; but others, like the N,H, and Y are more gothic in influence. ITC Dinitials come complete with numerals and are available in both positive and negative forms.
